Hi,
Seniors normally tend to become bosses whereas they should try and become leaders. Since its a small organisation, your boss wants to enjoy that feeling of being "all important". Your patience is being put to a great test here.
Try to get close to some important senior level people and also your peer group. Try and spend some time with them so as to get an insight about what they feel about the working of your deptt. Keep reading good material and keep yourself updated on what is happening in your field.
Also, try not to be rude with people so that nobody points an accusing finger at you.
Get noticed at important points. Start interacting with employees through emails like sending a Thought of the Day or some motivating emails. On employees' birthdays, go to their seats to wish them.
The important thing is that you should enjoy what you are doing. So let these things not bother you.
Happy working

Batter you leave this job and search for new job, after doing every thing if things are not moving in positive directions.

If you continue in this job, you will loose faith in you. Once it happens, very difficult to recover.

Remember you are equally responsible, what is happening with you.

Act now; decide before it’s too late.

Hi,
since you are sitting idle most of the time, why not try and analyse the bottlenecks in the processes of HR . try and look out for the things which can be improved on. come up with ur own ideas after research and analysis. after this put it across to ur reporting head /s in form of decent formal presentation. this would not only show your positive approach but will also show the intiaitives that u have take.
Think over it.

Hi,

Never mind doing this. Quickly compare yourself with your manager in terms of competencies and the threat he/she faces because of this. If then, demonstrate to your manager in terms of how supportive you can be and the advantage he / she will have.
Please understand such opportunities will not be given and so you have watch out and grab it without any delay and prove your capabilities.
Still nothing works, The world is full of opportunities :)

Hi,
The world is peculier one if you make the complex. Simply tell your boss that if he is not want your support then therir are lot more jobs in the market. Simply go to the senoior authority than your boss and with sufficient proofs.Thrash him if he is behaving like idiot and tell him to resign if he cannot take care of the juniors,
It is better to die with courage than to die everyday in fear.... Just switch off the problem and enjoy life happily

Hi,There is office politics every where. In your case, I believe your are too work alcoholic. That is not wrong, however do whatever is required of you. Sometimes, don't take too much initiatives. Give it a time - Let your boss come back to you for additional work. Do whatever is required out of you and then go for breaks with other people whenever they take a break. From here on in, your face emotions should not show that you are getting less work. Stop talking about work with them. Talk something else with your boss and co-workers and get along. This way you can turn around the momentum your way.See this with a positive frame of mind. I will tell you - practically I did it myself once.Regards,Soundar.

I also had that kind of experience before and what I did was,
Improve my bself.
1) Observe to peoples complaints (boss and colleagues) and change for the betterment.
2) Find our own goodness. Sure its in you. Practice all good ethics. mind our Attitude
3) Learn more, do not stop learning. Never think that we are clever enough.
4) Be Diligent - First to your boss, second to your colleagues
5) Be patient always.
You know before I was nothing, now I'm a "somebody" for my colleagues and my fussy Boss.
Last but not least. We have to change ourselve first in order to change people's mind.

Hi Bhavani
I think it would be of help if you could sit with your boss and tell him straight that you are feeling a underutilised and explore further engagements. You could gently remind him what all responsibilities you were detailed at the time of joining. I think that if you are getting sidelined, its also your fault. show some character and stand up for yourself. I am sure no boss does not want a performer and someone willing to take more responsibilities proactively would be welcome. Dont lose heart, just lose some meekness!

hi
This what i experience that working with boss is not the easy job, because everyone has it own Thinking and mentally approach, but the good way to work with the boss or any one else is that first observe what he/she like or dislike than work accordingly.
That will make life easy because flexbility is good thing in nature.
