The best thing u ca do iz to inform the employee to read through the appointment letter issued to him. It will be clearly mentioned that in case of resignation, one month notice iz required or 1 month salary in liew of notice. so if an employee iz leaving without serving notice perid, during final settlement deduct that amount for short notice or for not serving notice period. And mot important spread his to existing employees.

In our organization, there is a trend of employees leaving the job before completion of the notice period(1 month). For these ppl we have to face much of a hassle while processing for the full & final settlement of the candidate, issuance of Release letter etc.
Hw to tackle such situations...
pls note, we have nothing as such called annual component of the employees (like leave balances, med all or other allowances) to be adjusted with the notice pay.
