Dear Seniors,

I am working in one of the IT consulting companies, and I have only joined two months ago. We have many employees working at the Head Office in Hyderabad and a few employees working in other states where the employee strength is about 4-5 in the coworking place, and they work for our client's requirements. Here, employees are frequently leaving the company without any information; there have been many exits in the past year. I need to find out the reasons for these exits. Please advise me on analyzing the process.

Thanks in advance.

Put a criteria that the resigning/leaving employees shall attend an exit interview with HR/Chief Executive before they receive their final settlement pay. Devise the exit interview questionnaire in such a way that you may get all information you need to know about the employee's exit.

It's well and truly time to look at your recruitment and selection procedures and process. To have such a high staff turnover is a good indication that you are not hiring the right staff to begin with. However, other factors come into play as well, e.g. salary, work conditions, benefits, opportunities to advance, etc. Sounds like your organization needs a top-to-bottom investigation of why people don't want to stay. There are no simple answers to high attrition rates.

Hi Swathi,

You may include the notice period in the appointment letter. If any employee leaves without giving notice or serving during the notice period, you may send a legal notice and require the salary in lieu of the notice period.

Apart from what John in Oz recommended, I would suggest talking to your ex-employees to understand the problems they are facing. Gather all the required data and act accordingly.

Secondly, you can change your payroll date.
