I haved resigned my previous company and 20days after resignation(during my notice period) I got a call from a company for interview and was selected and also called for pre-employment medical.
The problem is that I did not mention during Interview that I already resigned.
Will there be any problem during joining time? And if they ask why I did not mention it to them, what will I answer? Please Help.
Thanks in Advance.

Hello Debraj Saha,
What was the reason you DIDN'T mention about your resigning in the Interview?
Also, what was the Joining Time you mentioned subsequent to which you got the Offer?
And, how many days more are left in your Notice Period?

Dear Taj Sateesh,
I haved resigned my previous company on 19th march 2014. As per the 3 month notice period my date of leaving is 19th june 2014 which I already served.
Now i got a call from a MNC for Interview on April 2014, called for Final Interview on June,2014 and for pre employment Medical on June,2014. The joining is in October2014.
I did not mention my resignation because the previous company I was working with is in loss and had done manpower reduction and I was one of the 120 engineers who got laid off.

The notice period for my current company is 3mths. I resigned on March2014 and relieving period ended on June2014. And my release letter contains only the date of joining(June 2012) and date of leaving(June 2014). And it also contains of my pl,lta encashed information.
The reason why I resigned is actually I got laid off(not fired) due to the economic downturn of the company. Like me around 120 engineers also got laid off.
In the meantime I got an offer from a MNC for written exam on April 2014 means after my resignation of the previous company. And at the time of written exam I was told to filled up a form where there was a option called notice period which I filled as 3months.
After clearing the aptitude and technical round(on April2014) I was called for the HR round on the same day. And I was asked why I would like to join this company, what are my job responsibilities and some technical question from work experience. Nothing else was asked. After that in I was called for Final Interview(on May 2014) and they told me the position I will be working for, asked about my family, all normal questions. Then called for pre-employment medical on June 2014. Joining is on October.
My Question is,
At the joining time when I will be told to submit my release letter then they will come to know that I already leaved the company on June2014.
Then what will I answer ? How will they react if I told the truth that I was laid off? And also I'm not sure they will believe me. They may think I got fired. How will I tackle this situation. I have no other job offer in my hand right now.
Please Help.

Having already resigned and serving the notice period have you got your relieving letter or not yet ? If not why?
If you got it, no worry, What is the "reason for leaving" mentioned therein. Going by the information what you have given here I could not think that you have lied to your interviewer. Not revealing the fact of closure or laid off etc.in my view is not suppression of facts, especially when no such relevant to this matter was putforth in the interview. Telling all frankly is a diff.question. So I hope you will not face any serious problem if your relieving letter is not going to create any problem.
Incidentally, why you have to wait till Oct. Can't you join now at the earliest since you have already undergone medical fitness. And you never mentioned whether you already received the Offer of Apptt. letter mentioning the date by which date you have to join. If you have the offer then you shouldn't worry. Afterall having laid off due to downturn is not your crime.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes I have got my release letter. The letter only contains "My name, Token No, Location,Grade, Dept.,Date of Joining,Date of Leaving,Leave Encashment , Lta encashment, Deductions" ...thats all. There isn't any "reason for leaving" tag.
And I don't think I'll be able to join before October because there is a problem going on in the company. They will ask me to join after their internal issue is resolved.
Now as the release letter contains the date of leaving June 2014, If I join in October they may ask why you resigned before your selection. Then what will I answer?
The Truth that I was laid off?

Dear Debraj,
It's very much obvious that you have been relieved in June'14. And it's no matter whether you left the job on your own or laid off. I think there is no risk in revealing the 'reason for leaving' whenever they ask you about it. If they don't ask you, no issue, you need not tell the reason for leaving either. There is nothing wrong in leaving in anticipation of a better prospects as well. And your fear of something bad will happen is misplaced. Afterall they did not select you on any misrepresented/misquoted facts. Only question which would emerge is "what you were doing after your were relieved in June'14 till Oct.14" as and when you are going to report. Prepare your answer to this question.
And you have not mentioned whether you already got their offer letter indicating likely reporting (due) date. If you got this offer letter you are safe.

Dear Debraj,
There is no subject to worry on your part.
Further, as you have already mentioned you got laid off from your duties of last employer and and you were on notice period at the time of attending written exams and other pre-employment tests.
Since you'll join this new company in the month of October 2014. So its fine.
You can say without any panic put in your mind that I was relieved from last employer 3 month ago (state whatever reasons occured at that time).
You join very freely don't take any panic.
Congrats!

Ok. What could be my possible answers regarding this time issue i.e. from June 14 to Oct 14? Just give me some sample answers so that I get some idea about that.
And I do not have the offer letter as I told they are facing some internal problems. But the letter has been already made and will be mailed just after the issue resolved. I got this information from a trusted (personally known to me) source.
