As per our theory for any TNA(training need analysis) we start up with training need identification
as first and the foremost imp step
once you are clear with the needs, in different dept,
then you can start up shortlisting the needs and as per that the trg prog( it can be thru internal faculty or external faculty)
while deciding the faculties take care of the merits and demerits of both the methods
after every trg prog , do the analysis thru the superiors (and with due consideration to the end result which is to be met) otherwise the whole training will be of no use
over a period of time the analysis of provided training programme's effectiveness shd be calculated and also the identification shd carry as ongoing process as the change is continuous in business
hope this will help
as of now i am giving a very brief because of short of time

Just to add to Anura's message I would like to add that besides the training needs you need to identify you also need to identify:
1. who or which department needs that training
2. what % of people need to be trained
3. by when and how many training hours have to be given to each person/department
Based on these inputs you could have SLA's for your department so that you can plan the training accordiangly and have the analysis of the data done accordiangly.
Cordially,

Hi Enzo,
As my understanding goes, TNA can be done to know the requirements of the training in various department. There are three methods of TNA:
# Task Based Training need analysis: Here the needs are taken out on the basis of lack of skills for a particular task.
# Manpower based Training need analysis: This is done to analyse the absence of necessary skills in the person, which is required for a position.
# Organisational based TNA: this is done in the cases of introducing a change, acquisition, mergers, joint ventures or at the time of restructuring etc.
After TNA is done the next step is to design a detailed program, material, venue, budget, trainer, and then the evaluation.
Cheers
