I need to design an MDP for frontline employees in the chemical industry. Can you suggest what all it should include? Also, could you please provide insights on the specific type of training modules that should be included? Additionally, what steps should I take to ensure that the MDP is effective in the long term and fulfills the needs of employees.

Please advise.

Dear Pritesh,

Though your query is not so long, its reply is vast. We, the members of this forum, are outsiders and we know nothing about your industry in general and company-specific issues in particular.

The objective of the Management Development Programme is to enhance the skill sets of your managers. In addition to technical skills, you need to develop various business skills in your managers in the fields of finance, supply chain, management, and so on. To achieve this, you need to study the systems and processes of various departments and identify the training needs. Based on these needs, an MDP can be designed. The end result of MDPs is to improve the quality of decisions made by the managers and enhance their professionalism.

It may be noted that MDPs need customization, and what has worked for others may not be a solution for your company.

If you wish to discuss designing MDPs, feel free to contact me.

Thanks,
