This actually depends on the leave policy of the company. you refer your policy to obtain clarifications.
The legal stand is that an employee/workmen is allowed to work for 48 hrs a week and the 7th day should be off. They should not work for more than 9 hrs a day. A day means 24 hrs.

As Half Day working is a benifit provided to the employees who work for entire six days, therefore an employee who is on leave on Saturday will not be working for entire six days, hence the leave sanctioned would be for full day.

It Depends how much hour person worked on Saturday..if he worked 4 hours out of total 9 hours/8hours job then it will be considered as half day not full day..
or if he worked 2/9 hours den you can mark him full day leave and can adjust his 2 hours further in and half day leave..

Dear Leave policy itself shows if person absent on day whether working day is half day or full day it doesn’t matter. Person not attend duty it goes to full day leave.

As someone said the question is really hypothetical, when it come to salary you want to consider it as full day and when it comes to leave how can you ask for half day.
Its 100% full day. If you have any ERP implementation then it may consider it as a half day..

It will be considered as Full day , that means full day salary deduction if you r going on leave.
In case you to work for full n want to claim for the same than prior to this you have to talk with your Senior or respective HR they will mark u for comp off if Company's HR policies permitted to do so.
