Hello All,

I am a 3-year experienced HR professional (with an engineering degree, I do not have any formal HR education). My current job role is that of an HR Generalist, which includes around 70% end-to-end recruitment and 30% employee relations and payroll management.

Now, I am looking for a change and receiving offers for an IT recruiter profile (mostly). Should I go for a sole recruiter job, or is a generalist profile better in the long run? Please guide me on the growth path in IT recruitment as well as the HR generalist role, considering my educational background and experience.

Awaiting guidance on this.

Regards, Ananya

Hi Ananya,

Everything depends on their own interest. Few are interested in recruitment, and many are interested in generalist roles. In general, HR generalists will have broader learning opportunities and responsibilities.
