Recruitment is part of the overall HR Process. If you see HR as the world then Recruitment may be considered as Srilanka. Regards Vasanth

Hi,

You have the question for the difference between the Recruiter and the HR.It goes this way.

There is quite big difference in the job responsibility for the recruiter to that compared with the HR executive/generalist role.

Recruiter:(Process to follow and work done)

1.Gets a requirement from the superior or clients.

2.search for the profiles for the requirement through job portals, head hunting and references.

3.call the candidate and test whether he is matching with the skills set required.

4.call the candidate for the interview at your place or for the client at client place.

5.follow up with the candidate and the client after the interview

6.if shortlisted then ask for the offer letter from the client or candidate.

7.close the position and search for the other requirements.

But the hr executive or hr generalist job is quite different

1.works in the recruitment process

2.works with the training and development process.

3.work for the induction process

3.work for the appraisal process

4.works for the payrolls.

and many more processes

But in real time scenario the HR Executive majorly work for the recruitment and less in other departments.

Hi Meera & Sandhya
As of now you have the knowledge of only Recruitment where in it is part of HR. Learn more things into other part of HR like
Induction,
Retention Policies,
TNA
T&D
Attendance & Leave Management,
ESI, PF, PT, Bonus, Gratuity & Other acts
Payroll,
Motivation
Exit Interview
Full Final Settlement
Liaison
If you can get knowledge of those things surely it will be beneficial for getting HR position.

Hey Mahima,

You are working as an IT recruiter. Could you please tell me what IT recruiters do? Someone told me that it's a very good and comfortable job where you can get a good salary of 30k to 40k after one year of experience in a US or UK shift, and it's not a calling profile like BPO.

I also found an answer for this on Yahoo, and it is totally different. I'm pasting the link here. Please read that answer and tell me if it is right or not. In reality, what is the work of an IT recruiter?

The answer on Yahoo is:

Working as an IT recruiter, you would be on the phone all the time in the morning and at night. You will take calls from people interested in jobs and clients looking for workers. Many of your current employees will call you about job problems, and you often have to get to them during the evening. You will have pressure to get as many people working.

I would say the future is bright since IT is in demand, and it's a challenging job. So challenging that people who know nothing about IT can get a job in it. It's a job that nobody really wants.
