I have some questions on the work role of a HR Generalist & HR Recruiter.
What are the differences in job responsibilities in both of these roles?
What are the expected outcomes of both these jobs?
Because I am performing the following functions as a HR Executive&Admin with my current company such as Man power planning,sourcing&recruitment ,negotiation, offer, post recruitment fomalities ,appraisal processing,exit interviews etc
Admin matters---Travel bookings and other admin matters.I have completed almost 8 months in the IT software Industry .
I just wanted the clarification on the diff.between role of HR Recruiter and HR Exec&Admin?Friends can you help me out????What is the scope for growth?

Hi Hameetha,
the major diff b/w generalist and recruiter is ...recruiter takes care ONLY of RECRUITMENTS, whereas a generalist takes of the entire gamut of HR viz., recruitments, comp n ben, payroll, leave mgt, traingin n dev, attrition, etc.
Most of the frshers start out with handling recruitments initially and then move onto other areas.
Growth in this is dependent on whether u want to handle the entire HR gamut in the future...or wud u prefer just one area. There are people who opt for specilizing in just one or two areas of HR..they are called Specialists. U find specialists mainly in middle-level mgt....with seniors as generalists.
But the hardowrk u need to put in for becoming a generalist is much more than that for a specialist since u need to acquire in-depth knowledge in all the areas of HR rather than just 1 or 2.
i suggest u continue work in all the areas to get an exposure n then decide whether u r gonna b a generalist or specilaist.
