Dear Sir, I have resigned from the company on 25th October 2019 . The company is asking me to serve 1 month/2month notice.
As I have to Join new company immediately i cannot serve notice period. I have communicated this to previous employer but he hasn't agreed to relieve me. He has put my salary on hold. He has threatened me of legal action if i don't serve the notice period. Now the new company is asking for relieving letter of previous company before Joining. Since I have already resigned I will not have any Job if i don't join new company. Please suggest options.

Hi,
Please check your employment order terms of the current employer. You are bound to serve proper notice period as per your employment terms. You should have informed your new employer about your notice period requirement once they have shortlisted you.
Now you can talk to your new company HR about the notice period requirement and also send a request email asking for time to serve notice.
In a way it will be perceived by them positively that you are duty conscious and responsible person. So present politely to your new employer.

I agree with Mr. V.M. Lakshminarayanan. It would present you as a credible, trustworthy employee.
