I am a 14-year experienced professional.

Recently, I joined a new company and quit immediately after working for around 10 days. The organization was ultra-toxic and nasty, unbearable with shady practices, so I decided not to continue. I just informed HR verbally and conveyed my decision. I haven't written a resignation email, nor did HR ask for it.

I joined on July 20th and quit on July 29th. I see they have credited the July month PF to my UAN account on August 14th. I am unable to update the exit date as it says it's only possible after 2 months of the last PF credit. Will I be able to update the exit date to July 29th after 2 months?

I might join a new company in September and don't want to disclose the above ten days of experience. Will there be overlaps with the new company?

Hi,

Just wondering how a person of your stature with 14 years of experience made such a hasty move without following any proper separation process.

It is not advisable to hide details regarding short-term employment, as a future employer may discover it through the UAN portal. You can request the employer to update the exit date, or you can do so yourself after 2 months. I would suggest not joining any company (with PF) before confirming the relieving date with the past employer to avoid potential issues with overlapping exit dates.

Thank you for your reply. After 2 months, what date will the portal allow me to set as DOE? Is it the 14th of August or the 29th of July?

Meanwhile, can I join a new organization? Will the new company ask why the DOE is not updated?

Hi,

It depends.

The reason being that your ex-employer, after following the disciplinary process (warning followed by termination), might mark a different date from your actual last working day. Therefore, it is better to talk to your HR and request them to do the needful.

Okay, but after 2 months what date will the portal allow me to set as DOE? Any date after 14th Aug or 29th July?
