If you read the book "Break all the Rules," you will get a very good insight into how to gauge employee engagement. There is also some discussion on employee satisfaction. However, what most companies forget is that "employee engagement" is actually more important than employee satisfaction. Employee satisfaction is more related to the office atmosphere, HR policies, and facilities provided to relax. In many cases, companies believe that compensation is the most crucial factor for employee satisfaction. While this is true to a large extent, especially more so today than a few years ago, the question arises: Do you want satisfied employees or fully engaged employees? Remember the difference in the ratings list between the level of "Satisfactory" and the level of "Excellent." Organizations must assess both the level of employee engagement and the level of satisfaction.

You can't satisfy employees for the long term with any monetary benefit. Human wishes never end. It is better to engage people in an atmosphere where they will enjoy their work. Work on a questionnaire that will serve the purpose of your organization, as the definition of satisfaction varies across different cultures.
