Hi

I recently joined a construction company as a Manager. The appointment letter says i will be on a probation for 9 months. No exit procedures / notice period is mentioned in the appointment letter for the probation period or for the subsequent confirmed service period. I have signed a Service Bond on a stamped paper which states that i will serve the company for 3 years failing which i have to pay to the company the salary for the remaining period towards damages (No Training or Training related expenses are incurred or mentioned in the Bond)

During the interview with the CEO as well as in my application and resume submitted to the company i had clearly mentoned my fields of expertise. But after joining the duty i have been orally entrusted with responsibilites for all the sectors in which the company operates. These include the sectors though related to civil engineering; bear no realtion with the my previously acquired experience

I am extremely disturbed as i am unable to handle the sectors in which i have no expreince becuase my responsibility includes very senistive issues like Bidding. i am spending sleepless nights.

The management is not understanding the gravity of the situation and are insisting (orally) that i should shoulder the responsibilites as they have no other arrangement . I want to leave the organization. I have spend about only 2 weeks and todate havent received any payment for my services. i have totally lost my peace and I want to get relieved of this mess at any cost. Please advise me what would be the easiest way for leaving the organization. Is it possible i can claim for my unpaid dues.

I am sorry for the long post. Please help me with your valuable advises :( :(

As far as your leaving the organisation is concerned, you can leave the organisation by informing them in 24 hours notice time as you are in Probation Period. You can inform by way of Registered Post.

The process of searching for this job and joining would have consumed atleast three to six months of your life And you feel within a few days that the job is not to your liking
Please introspect, discuss with your close freinds discuss with your employers give it a try and wait atleast one to two months
Unless there is something unethical involved in the business, you should give it a try for one or two months Then take a decison You wont repent later

I think Siva is absolutely right in your case. There cannot be an organization that assign an irrelevant job / task to a professional employee. If this company has a good professional management then they will definitely understand and realize the enethical practices going on in the organization and implement the corrective actions. So while you have a chance to resign within probationary period you can give this job a chance to continue and try to accommodate in the same position for further 1 to 2 months and later if the circumstances are too difficult to handle then resignation within probationary period is the only solution.
NOTE: Because company has given you 9 months probationary period so you can resign on any date with a 24 hours notice within this period.
