I am responsible for conducting background checks (for previous employment) for both existing and new employees. Unfortunately, I do not have a specific format or checklist for this task. I would be grateful if anybody could assist me by providing a checklist for the same.

1. How long the person worked with the organization and the duration of employment.
2. Reasons for resignation upon joining and leaving.
3. Strengths and areas for improvement.

Additionally, you should assess the following parameters:

a. Integrity and character
b. Interpersonal relations
c. Result orientation
d. Overall performance record
e. Commitment
f. Discipline
g. Whether any disciplinary actions were taken.

Reference checks will initially be conducted with the previous employer, followed by the current employer after joining. I trust that I have provided you with the necessary details to a satisfactory extent.

You can find out the following when doing a reference check:

1. How long the person worked with the organization and since when?
2. What was their resignation reason when they joined and resigned?
3. What are their strengths and areas for improvement?

You also need to check the following parameters:
- Integrity & Character

- Discipline
- Check if any disciplinary action was taken or not.
