Hello all. I am from India. I am working in a IT company since last 2 years. While joining my current company. I showed 2.10 years of fake experience. Now I have 2 years of genuine experience and I want to get rid of past fake experience of 2.10 years. In my current organisation my designation was 'Senior Engineer' at the time of joining. If I remove 2.10 years fake experience then will it create problem if I switch to a new company and they do background check??

Your question is not clear. Let us assume that you are working with a company for the last 2 years. While joining this company you had submitted a fake experience certificate which showed that you had worked for 2 years and 10 months in some organisation. Now you want that that fake service be deleted from the CV. Right?

Fake experience is fake only. If you show only the current experience when you join a new company, it is good. When that company takes a background verification, they will only ask the previous company (ie, the company where you are working right now) about your salary, abilities etc in that company only. They are concerned about their records. There is very rare chance that the company may shoot out of the box and say that he joined us with an experience of 2 years and 10 months! That is not required. The person who does the background verification do verification based on the records available with him. When you have not declared that you have another service of 2.10 years before the immediate previous company, how can they come to know about it?

Hello Madhu, Thank you for your reply. Yes you're correct, I joined my current organisation showing 2.10 years fake experience and completed 2 years here in current organisation. I am worried that if I switch company and if that new company asks to my current employer regarding previous employment which is fake.... Also at the time of joining current organisation my designation was Senior Engineer and now also it is same but if I remove fake experience and if next company asks that how did you join your current organisation as Senior Engineer with no prior experience....that is the only thing I am worried.

Hi,

You need to apply some logic. If you remove 2.10 years fake experience, it will be considered as you joined current company as fresher. For a fresher how come a company give a designation Sr. Engineer equivalent to experienced and better start salary? New Employer will catch this based on your start salary and designation without any experience. So just think about it. Never show fake experience it will give you trouble any time.

Hello Lakshmi Narayan. Thanks for replying. I understand Senior Engineer designation with no prior experience can be questioned. But my salary is not that great. It was 5.5 LPA when I joined with 2.10 yr experience. Now it's 6 LPA after last appraisal.

Hi

Even 5.5 LPA is a very high salary for a Fresher. Only leading companies will give that salary for candidates hired through campus from premium Institutes.

Now if you want to hide the fake experience then you can make up in a different way ( which is also fake😊). You should present that prior to joining this company you were working under as freelancer under some known people who work purely on assignments basis and gained practical experience there. You should present that they are a informal team.. No name... Just got salary on assignment basis. This way you can resolve the fake experience issue.

I didn't notice that your designation at the time of joining the current establishment was Senior Engineer. As advised by Lakshmi Narayan, you cannot join as a Senior Engineer without having experience in hand. Now my question is, whether the company where you have worked for 2.10 years really exists? Is it a fake organisation? Or how did you manage the background verification then? It may happen that by luck, the employer should not have sent it for verification. Or did you have any strong hold in that fake certificate company to give a good endorsement for you? If yes, continue that. We should not encourage fake certificates and in order to cover up a wrong thing we are again and again doing wrong thing and it is endless. But at a certain point, the background verification beyond a certain period will become impractical. Normally, background verification may be taken from three employers and not more than that.

It is upto you to decide and take a call.

Thanks Laxmi Narayanan for advice.

Hello Madhu, the experience of 2.10 years I shown is a existing small scale IT company. I got there documents from a training Institute. They provided Salary slips, Joining letter, increment letter, Experience and reliving documents, reporting manager contact details.

Even if all details are there, it is fake. So I am thinking to remove it from my profile.

The advice given by Lakshmi Narayan regarding freelancing work seems logical. What do u think.
