I am working as Head Process Quality in Muscat, Oman in Middle East. My department works in areas realted to Employee Development, Quality of interaction with customers, Customer Satisfaction, and also a variety of Organisation Developlment function.
I have been given a KRA of employee engagemet this year. I need to conduct internal surveys and make strategy and plans for increasing involvement of employees.
Can you provide me with some material / tips / suggestions.

Dear Punn,
Employee Engagement Surveys would be more fruitful, if it is done by an external consultant rather than if done internally. The main reason being the employees would feel more secure, comfortable and would be more open with their real feelings, if they feel that the data they share would be confidential and will not disclose their identity. When the survey is done internally, even if you take all measures to make sure that the data would be confidential, the employees may not percieve it the same way and hence may not be open with their true feelings. Hence i suggest the survey should be done by an external consultant.
