hi.. The correspondence courses don't add a value in your resume..so you should have gone for regular course or a part time course..& i don't think that handling petty cash, chasing & generating new clients, are included in hr generalist profile..
can you please clarify your statement"you said you have joined the recruitment firm & on other part you said you are not getting corporate exposure.." so your these two lines confused me..do you mean presently you are working with a consultancy?? :)

Dear Neha.....
I can understand your problem. Whatever positions you are handling is not a generalist profile (Frankly speaking). See now a days an experience in a Payroll and Statutory compliances matters a lot.
Now the thing is r u getting an enough exposure to all these things??. If yes then dont worry u will have a great future. But if No then u have to take the knowledge of all these things and then u will definately get a exposure in a corporate world. It doesnt matter what is your education but the practical knowledge of the generalist profile matters a lot.
See MBA is just a Stephny for your career growth. But here the first thing is u have to take a good experience in generalist profile and then u can think over further education doesnt matter it is distance learning or regular.....

The generalist profile includes following things:

1. Recruitment
2. Administration
3. Payroll processing
4. Statutory compliances
5. Employee Engagement
6. Performance appraisal
And many more things.......
First of all u just take a good experience in these things then i am sure u will get a good exposure in a corporate world......

Dear Neha,
As mentioned by Mr. Ramdas, it is true that what you are handling right now is not an HR generalist profile.
Now, why don't you continue your part time MBA, once again. Try and learn various things related to HR if not practically than through first reading about the other functions of HR. Here this forum has vast information related to HR to share, its like an ocean the more deep you go the more variety you get. So dear, start learning and increasing your knowledge.
And complete a year here and start applying for jobs side by side.
I hope this resolves your query.
