How to calculate salary month-wise because all months are not the same. For example, January, March, May, July, August, October, and December have 31 days, while April, June, September, and November have 30 days. February has 28 or 29 days. How do we calculate salary according to HR rules? Please provide clarification.

Dear Anonymous,
A simple formula to calculate the salary per month is as follows: Net Salary per month in hand / Full number of days in the month X Number of paid days (the days the employee has worked in the month + paid leaves if any). For example, if the net/in-hand salary of an employee is Rs. 25K, and his total paid days (including paid leaves) in the month of March '19 were 27, then his salary payable for the month of March '19 would be:
25,000 / 31 X 27 = Rs. 21,774/-
However, in calculations, an employee's salary is usually divided into several components such as Basic, HRA, Conveyance, Special Allowance, etc. In that case, each component is divided in the same way, and then the result in each case is summed up to form the payable salary for that month.
I hope I have clarified it to a great extent.
Best Regards
