I am a mother of two kids; hence, I had a career break of seven years, and now I wish to resume my career. My prior experience is in an HR generalist/ops role. I would like to seek suggestions on how I should restart my career.
Will undergoing Workday training with an HR background fetch me a good job/position?
Should I search for a job in my previous experience roles (HR)?

Being in a generalist role, you can apply for HR jobs directly. You can explain the reason for a 7-year break due to maternity. Just refresh on amendments in various statutory laws like PF/ESI. Considering the gap in salary, you will be expected to negotiate.

A course on Workday HCM would be beneficial for organizations utilizing that software. However, in other scenarios, it may not be as relevant. If you have a background as an HR Generalist but have been out of touch for the past 7 years, updating your skills, especially in digital management, will be essential to re-enter the field. It is advisable to seek out more generalized content rather than focusing solely on a specific software.
