Dear Smart Boy,
You have to work hard recruitment experience is not an expereince to build career that is one small function among huge HR gamut of activities. Recruitment alone does not gurantee employment because even matriculated or Higher secondary student can recruit by short listing candidates and follow-ups with candidates and job site data.
Your expereince starts now...with generalistic HR. First of all you have to list out business cycle & process and figure out your role what is your role for bringing improvement and enhancement in that business process.
How you can improve and enhance that HR part in business cycle.

Hello Swati,
First & Foremost, a big NO for any thought of job-changing now.....don't ever put in your papers unless & until you have another job in hand.
Now you may not like this. But you are really lucky to have got the break to work in a generalist HR role. I know of so many HR people who just do recruiting for years on end just b'cos they didn't get any break into the generalist role...sort of chicken & egg story. Frankly the staff I have comprises such persons too. So use this opportunity to the hilt.
Reg guiding, you studied HR subjects...right? So reopen your books and begin to co-relate what you read & the actual experiences. Only then look for advice--without you doing any groundwork, pl. don't expect anyone to spoonfeed you--that may work in college but not in real life. When you ask someone to guide you, go with SPECIFIC issues/questions, rather than a general query. And then inform that person what you did and where you are stuck...help will be given very willingly--you can bet on it.
In a single line: Where there is a will, there's a way.
Sorry if I didn't write what you wanted.

Dear Swati,
Precisely nothing more or less is needed than what was stated by TS. No one can guide or help excepting yourself beyond a point in any event in life especially in your career.
I have been taking training programme for youngsters or people with around 2 years experience. More often than not they choose the fileld in the early years imagining that it is bed of roses with all their qualifications and smart way of internet handling and phone calls. But in mid-away they loose interest in the job by saying I am not really cut for this job or my cup of tea is not this or all crantky statements. It is here their attitude counts their altitude.
Learn anything remotely useful to your career. Learning curve should not be flat else your earning will stop.
Being a HR person starting from Management traninee to currently holding a Company with HR specialisation there is defenitely a journey which no one repeat no one can avoid. The road map or jounry in the career may be pumpy but you must get on and continue your journey.
Think over and act.

Dear Swati,
See you are working in gen. profile so you are getting exposure to so many things, as you have no body to guide, i would say here in cite HR platform so many people provide HELP. but this loosing self confidence is very undesirable from a HR Person, take this opportunity as a challenge & i'm sure you will perform you job very well.

Dear Swathi,
Recruitments is a part of HR Activities. I think now in ur present company u got a chance to prove urself and chance to become a pure HR. Don't loose this oppurtunity as many people are waiting for this profile. take it as challange. Having experience in recruitments and geting HR generalist profile is not a simple thing. kindly Concentrate on this job. Don't leave this profile even market gets boomup.

Hi Swati,
I too started as a Recruiter and now - my profile is different.
Its the whole gamut of HR (rather than calling myself as a generalist).
I see only one difference between u and me. - "I hate doing tasks that I have alreadyy mastered"... if there is a system thats exists, its difficult for me to just follow that. I either improvize..or creat if none exists.
Just see lifethis way - wats the point in waiting to hear from someone if they are satisfied or not...wats the point in just coming everyday at 9 and leaving at 6 and have an empty feeling within...?
Be open to challlenges. Only when u have sensed u are not doing anything, will u have the urge to CREATE something. ur boss probably expects u to be self initiative. Nobody is there to guide u becos - they dont know wat and where to guide u with!
ur Boss does not know what u r doin and wat value addition u have - its becos u r just not doing anything.
U shuld be Self initiative. And if u ask me how to start being so - a) study ur company b) the busines sprocess c) the people involved d) their work conditions e) the business needs... the next point will automatically come to u f) the flaws involved.
Start working on it one by one. U have information available everywhere - u just need to take the first step from within ur heart - to love wat u r doing, and love urself for what u r doing!
Take care!
