I am a master student working on my final thesis and for this I require some help from a company. Below I have outlined the focus, scope and timing of my Thesis.
Wanted: company interested in FREE training transfer evaluation!
Focus: I am a final year masters student interesting in evaluating the training transfer process in the workplace i.e. whether and how employees transfer their learning from training to the workplace, identifying what factors impact on this transfer.
Specifically, I seek to uncover the perspectives of those who have undertaken training as well as the managers who organize this training. I want to assess their perception of training transfer i.e. their use of new skills/knowledge/attitudes in the workplace as well as the organizational climate and support for training transfer (i.e. support that they receive from managers, support received from peers) . I hope to assess whether and how this support contributed to their use of new skills/knowledge/attitudes in the workplace. The aim would be to assess the current training transfer and make recommendations as how to improve training transfer in the company.
(suggested) scope : online survey to be provided to employees/managers involved in in-company training ; potential follow up interviews if possible. Survey to be administered online and set up by student. In depth analysis of responses and statistics to be completed by student. Report on findings to be provided
Timing: clarification of research objectives in July (alignment with company objectives if necessary), data collection in July/August, data analysis in September. Final report to be completed for November 25th 2013
