Dear Shraddha
Welcome to CiteHR.com !!
You have not given more details about your profile.
From which institute you have completed your MBA ??
I do not wish to discourage you; but let me tell you, NOT EVERY MBA from all of the IIMs, or even IIT+IIMs become CEO.
There is no guarantee that any MBA (even from premier B-schools) can become CEO.
There is only one CEO in a company; and we read about the Leadership competition in legendary companies like GE, HP, Apple, Microsoft, Tata etc. where legendary managers with years of experience in the same company, were not made CEO's.
I understand your curiosity, since you are a fresher. However, It would be advisable that at this stage, you focus more on learning and gaining experience in your chosen profession.
If becoming a CEO is your only avocation; then you may start your own company and designate yourself CEO. Its a simple matter of registering a company; as every proprietor of a business seem to be doing these days.
Warm regards.

Shraddha,

Raj sir did give you the best possible answer.

Please understand that every company has its own hierarchy and working levels. So it is not possible to generalize on the period time that one would need to reach to that level.

Secondly, let us say suppose even predict that it may take around X years to reach to the CEO level, do you think it is only the number of years you spent in the work place matters?

In order to be a CEO one needs that kind of enthusiasm, foresightedness, experience, valor, risk taking ability, etc.

So as per my knowledge just adding numbers to your experience don't qualify you to be the CEO.

Focus instead on what to do at this stage so that you can contribute. The success ladder would automatically come and you can be a CEO one fine day (why not think that you are the best and you can do it. But it would need more than efforts and number of years)

And if incase you are starting your own business, you can be the ceo and the founder of the firm. In this case you need not qualify the passing tests and rounds because there you would be the boss.

Hope it helped.

Too early to think about becoming a CEO. Join as a fresher, put in hard work, learn your job, contribute to the organization, perform beyond the expectations of your managers, find out how others perceive you, add to your learning profile by doing some on-line training programs etc... In brief, climb one step at a time & introspect. Improve your profile as you climb up, you may realize there is far too much to learn, not only about yourself but how to manage people. Select the best manager in the organization as your mentor & learn through interaction.
Good to notice your ambitions, but as a sensible person plan to reach there. Remember: "Heights by great men reached & kept, were not attained by sudden flight; they, while their companions slept, were toiling upwards in the night."

Nothing is tough or nothing easy. It is our mind set.

I am giving you some tips / quotes here which may help you and all the viewers.

* Be positive always.

* Have your Vision and Goals clear. Write it down and read it daily.

* Take calculated risk in life. If you win, you can lead. And if you loose, you can guide.

* Believe that your profession is the greatest profession in the world. You have to put your heart in the profession and the profession in your heart.

* When you truly believe that you deserve Success, your mind will automatically generate the ways to achieve it.

* One who wins without problem, it is just a Victory. But when one who wins with lot of troubles, that is a History. Create History : Hitler.

* One can never start new chapter in his life, if he is too busy in re-reading his earlier chapters.

Dear Neeraj Panchal
Welcome to CiteHR.com !!!
While appreciating your enthusiasm and your post on this thread; I would like to remind you that one should quote the source, whenever one takes someone else's work by way of referring or copy-paste.
Such attributions not only make one's write-up more authentic and trustworthy; but also does justice someone's else efforts and work.
Not doing so, amounts to plagiarism and violation of someone's copyright and intellectual property rights, which is immoral, unethical and illegal.
Warm regards.

There is no participation of querist in the discussion. It seems querist is disappeared.
No one can give the answer to querist how much time it will take her to reach the position of CEO. It is totally depends on individual and various parameters.
In my earlier posting I have given some tips / quotes for success. Mr. Neeraj Panchal copied and posted good inputs. Good inputs by Raj, Ankita, Bhatia, Simhan.
I wish to add further that to be a successful person one should have positive attitude, business attitude, learning attitude and wining attitude. All those attitudes are very very important . Also, if there is no 2D i.e. Desire and Dedication, one can not be a successful person in any field.

Well, all your progress and becoming a CEO of the company from an MBA fresher is directly proportional to your qualification, confidence, capability, professionalism, skills, smart work and a little bit of luck.
