Dear Ms. Padmini, Mr. Navneet Sarin has given the best advise. All I can add is what you have done is wrong but not unethical nor a crime. Don\'t worry about the previous employer spoiling career etc.Pls calm down.
Send a clear letter that you have resigned and wish to return the laptop. Fix a last date by when they must arrange to collect the item. Send 2 reminders at one week\'s gap each. With best wishes

Does it matter to serve 1 month notice if an employee resign during probationary period. as far as acceptance of resignation, i think court is accepting resignation letter forwarded via email.

Silly. Padmini...
U r wellknown the distance and other issues....
Ok ..
Solutions
1 and 2
if u have gone agreement. U have to follow and obey the condotions...
3.if they want to suffer u they may go that ur doing 2 jobs at a time....but it is so common now a days..
So take written letter from the new company that they dont need resignation approved letter in old company and also give ur self declaration letter to new company that u. R working in this new company only.
In many legal courts accepted self declaration is enough even in income tax dept.
4.return of laptop to the old company...
It is the responsibility of the old company to receive the instrument any..
So sent by parcel courier and keep all receipts with you for future corredpondence..
But dont worry...things go well. Soon..
Try to p acify with ur words to your old boss.
If not fruitful...do above step by step..ok.
