Hi,
I would suggest you to plan for employee workshops. Also if possible try to learn the possible motivating elements for individual employees. Then you can plan ' how to motivate your employees, help employees to practice self motivation and how to track the motivation levels on a regular basis'.
I am not thinking that an external motivator can influence the motivation levels of your employees for a long term. The effect of the 'motivation talk' might be for hours/days only.
best of luck

Hi,
I apprieciate that you are thinking about your company employees and their motivation factors.I hope you may have done few of the research for which the employees incline or what is their motivation factor.
As each and every employee has his/her priority of motivation factors.
I would suggest you to keep a counselling session for the employees every week and know what they exaclty feel.
Look i hope you are the HR head or exe,let it be anything try to do for your self.I saw many of the cite hr friends who say that they are not getting much exposure to all the HR activities,so when you are getting the opportunity try to utilise yourself.
I don't mean that you should not call any one from out to explain and inculcate the motivation process in your organization, but i mean to say first you try and do the process because you are in that work environment and will know things better then outside.
ALL THE BEST...
Bye

Hi Sandeep
Thank you so much. I really appreciate all the responses that i got from citehr and i have even called and thanked a few of you whom i could reach. To others i extent my appreciations because i was overwhelmed by the responses. You all have mentored us juniors as mother hen and always supported and encouraged us.
I am now looking at internal options. I have already proposed to the management about a counseling link where the employees without displaying their identity can put forth their concerns. I, having psychology background, would go forward and do the counseling if necessary.
I have also showed them the movie "The Pursuit of happiness.
3 cheers to citehr members. There cannot be any mentor better than you guys...not even the bosses
Regards

hi,
I think, why don't you arrange an open forum for all the employees or a small get together. Where employee can share their problems and you addres their issues. If the grievances are solved then people will automatically get positively affected about the organisation.
Another thing is if you start thank you card system in the oragnisation it will definately get woked to motivate the employees. The thank you card system works on following criterias.
1. Make a dept. wise group of people.
2. Frame rules for exchange of thank you card
3. thank you cards will be for helping each other in case of official work.
4. At the end of month whoever gets maximum thank you cards will get a small or big gift hamper.
This will make lot of diffrence in emplyee moral.
