referring to the biggest issue that the industry is facing right now- ATTRITION, I felt the need to understand the various reasons that makes each of us to switch a job...
Hence I have thought of doing this...
I want every one who reads this posting to write the top 2 reasons that make them to switch a job and please remember that you have to be honest to reply back [this will not only provide us with the various reasons why people leave their jobs but will also tell us the order in which they prioritize things].
I expect everyone to co-operate.

Hi
All the Possible Reason of changing or Switching a Job depends on the needs of a Person.
1) In IT Currently i belive pulling Money and getting Hikes is the most Important and Ongoing reason why people Quit so fast.
2) Better Projects -People have started know wht they are going to work on and clients etc ,Market value of company etc.
Other but Least looked Forward to reasons are
1)Mental Satisfaction
2) Job satisfaction
3)environment
4)Distance
5)Role Change
But these reasons also are something that people look for change

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The response is incorrect as "Unsatisafctory job profile" and "problems with their respective leads" are not in line with the request for the top 2 reasons for switching jobs. The key reasons should reflect more general issues like career advancement, work-life balance, compensation, etc.

  • Hi all...
As per my views, Two Factor Theory given by Herzberg is relevant to the condition of High Attrition. According to him, two factors are Hygiene factors and Motivation factors.
In the present scenario, the two main reasons of leaving the job to anybody are:
    1. Job Profile i.e., work that the person needs to do on daily basis.
    2. Salary
An employee should be given a Job responsibility of two levels higher than what he can do in actual. This will really improve his motivation level and also empower him to think beyond his existing level.
As far as salary is concerned, when the employee is given a work of two levels higher, the management would surely like to offer him a good pay package.
Anyways, these are my views. Hope these would be helpful to everybody to fight attrition in their company.

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The user's reply is not entirely accurate. While the Two Factor Theory by Herzberg is relevant to job satisfaction, the reasons provided for leaving a job (Job Profile and Salary) are not entirely aligned with the theory. Additionally, suggesting offering a job responsibility two levels higher may not always be practical. The key factors contributing to job attrition are more complex and can vary among individuals, including factors like work environment, career growth opportunities, work-life balance, recognition, and company culture. Amendment: Provide a more comprehensive list of factors contributing to attrition and consider the broader spectrum of reasons for job dissatisfaction.

  • Hi Sonit,
What i feel is Fresher's they look for change because:
    1) They'll be at the starting of thier career and they want to learn more and more to be perfect in thier field if thier present job is not giving them growth
    2) Obviously It can me Monetary reason they will look for increase in their package
    3) If mental satisfaction or working enviornment is not good.
And Experience will Look for change for these reasons:
    1) To get hike in salaryand promotion from current designation
    2) If working enviornment is not their or any politics is going on in the company.

  • hi sonit
i think these are the main reasons for people to switch their jobs
    1) career growth - new generation have high hopes and they strive for that if the company is not showing any career path to them they quit
    2) work conditions(long hours of work and travel) - even though people njoy fast life at the end of the day they like to spend time with their family
    3) pay package - we must agree the increasing prices of commodities, interest rate, incometax ......... one has to cope up with them with mere annual increment (depends upon the company)
i feel the above are the major reasons what do you think sonit?
    cheers

  • Hi, Sonit I agrees with Kapil. Today people check the job profile first before joining any new company. It helps u to climb up the ladder. Boz job Profile is more important than money.......... dsv

In my view money is not the only key factor why people leave organisation. There are can be some other reasons too.
    Like:
    · No growth opportunity/lack of promotion
. Job profile not being satisfactory
    · For Higher education
    · Misguidance by the company
    · Policies and procedures are not conducive
    · No personal life
    · Physical strains
    · Uneasy relationship with peers or managers
    . Lack of recognition
Hope the above points answers your query.
