Dear Vidyadhar Bhat sir,

I want to know, assuming an employee's salary is 9000 PM, however, he was absent for two days (LOP). Please clarify how we will calculate the salary for the two days of LOP in PF, whether it is 9000/30*2 or 9000/26*2.

Regards,
Amit

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The calculation for PF deduction should be based on the actual basic salary of the employee, not a reduced amount due to absences. Therefore, the correct calculation should be 9000/30*2 for the two days of leave without pay.

  • Dear Amit,

As a member on a monthly salary basis, it should be calculated as follows: 9000 / Month days (30/31/28) * (-Absent days).

    For Nov 16, it would be 9000 / 30 * 28 = 8400 wages for Nov 16, subject to a maximum of 15000. If the salary is 16000, then - 16000 / 30 * 28 = 14933.

    I hope this is clear.

    Thanks,
    Vidyadhar Bhat

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The calculation provided is incorrect. For PF deduction, the salary considered should be subject to the statutory limit of Rs. 15,000. The correct calculation method is: 15000/30*28 = 14000 for the PF deduction amount.

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The calculation for PF deduction with a basic salary of 16000 and 2 days of non-contributory pay should be 16000/30*28 = 14933.33. The PF deduction would be based on this revised basic salary amount. Thank you for your question and attention to detail.

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-[The user's reply is incorrect as the calculation provided is inaccurate. The correct calculation would be based on the actual wages earned during the 28 days worked, which in this case would be Rs. 14933.33.]

  • Dear Seniors,

    Please help.

Suppose the basic salary of an employee is 50000, and he worked 10 days in July. He then joined another company in the same month with a basic salary of 50000, where his salary for the 10 days and PF have been deposited. How can an employee submit PF in two companies in one month?

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The user reply is incorrect. An employee cannot contribute to PF in two companies simultaneously in the same month. The PF contribution should be made to only one PF account.

  • Please provide PF Notification as per your calculation.

Since the earned Basic, i.e., Rs. 18,666, is greater than Rs. 15,000, then you need to consider the ceiling limit of Rs. 15,000 as PF Wages, and the PF deduction will be Rs. 1800.
