I am an HR Admin with a generalist profile, and I have received an offer from a reputed store to work as an HR Admin (Generalist). However, they are requesting assistance with fire and police-related matters. Please advise me on how to handle legal matters in an administrative role, especially concerning fire and police incidents in the store. I would like to understand the responsibilities of an HR admin in such situations.

Hi Pallavi,
I think this is an excellent opportunity you have found because I believe you have to set up a department. Take it sportingly.
There are a few institutes that provide practical training on core HR, charging only 5 to 7 thousand rupees, from where you can learn all aspects of HR and implement them.
Secondly, NIIT Imperia offers an executive program on HRM from IIM Calcutta. Do consider that.
With the help of all this, you can believe in yourself.
BEST OF LUCK,

Dear Mr. Laxman Kamble,
You are very late in giving your advice! Ms. Pallavi Bhosale had sought suggestions in the month of February '10, and you are posting now! I am afraid by now she would be in her 2nd or 3rd job! Did you not check the date on the left-hand top corner of the post?
Administrator, Moderators, are you listening? I wonder why such threads remain open? When do you close them?

Pallavi, you are lucky. You have been promoted to Manager HR in a very short span of time. I have over 4 years of HR experience, yet my designation is TL. You have to make it count; just learn what a Manager HR does.
HR generalist is a profile, not a designation like Manager HR. A Manager HR may be in a generalist role, similar to how I am in a generalist role, but my designation is TL HR.
