Dear Friends,
In My opinion, the questions framed are only formality.Ground situaton is that if a right candidate ever approaches many a times he/she is rejected just merely because of not answering such questions.I personally feel that the past achievements, confidence is presenting oneself, the knowledge a person has aquired and the skill level with which he can use aquired knowledge needs to be judged in interview through direct interaction and openness.
Reference checks, formal personal questions and tricky sychological questions have become routine and one is expected to get routne answers only.
I read some where Innovations never come with the best practices but the next practices.
Thanks
Bijay

1.What makes you different - If you dont hire me you will never know. 2.Why should I hire you? - You should hire me because I will make a difference in your organisation.

What makes me different & why should i hire you both questions are inter-linked to each other considering the position you are applying. You need to focus on your strength & tell how are you suitable for the position that you have come for an interview by illustrating some examples related to it.
Hope this will be useful for you.

Dear Fellow
What makes you diffrent ? My selection in your company will make me diffrent till that time i am one of the rats who wants to win as others...
why should i hire you ? I dont know why you should hire me but i know why i should get selected...then you can talk about your expreince and skill if they fit into required JS...
Just you have to give modest answers rather than being defensive and boasting about yourself....

Why should I hire you?
By now you can see how critical it is to apply the overall strategy of uncovering the employer’s
needs before you answer questions. If you know the employer’s greatest needs and desires, this
question will give you a big leg up over other candidates because you will give him better
reasons for hiring you than anyone else is likely to…reasons tied directly to his needs.
Whether your interviewer asks you this question explicitly or not, this is the most important
question of your interview because he must answer this question favorably in is own mind
before you will be hired. So help him out! Walk through each of the position’s requirements as
you understand them, and follow each with a reason why you meet that requirement so well.
