I m sorry for what has happened with u. But my dear frnd. don't u think u have also committed a mistake by giving so much references. Being a person from HR u should have some idea about the market and it's policies. If u don't have......No problem but whenever u face any some awkward situation u should get the idea k.......something is going wrong..........Here u have given every info. coz u had confidence k u will get the job.......aur phir jab purani co. ko chhod hi dena he toh fir batane me kya jaata he.........and here aap galti kar bethe.........aapko andaza ho jaana chahiye tha ki kuchh gadbad he.........same situation occured with my frnd but he knew ki kuchh locha he........toh he replied ki first u give me an offer letter and I'll tell u everything after joing the company.

Don't take it otherwise my frnd par this is not 1980s where the situation was different from the current picture. aaj toh competition ke zamane me best nahi par bharosewala emp. kaha se milega co. yahi sochti he.......aur uske liye jo unhone kiya woh kuchh haad tak galat he.............par puri tarah se nahi.........we can call it as a business stretegy.......so don't worry........yahi duniya he.......hota he......

nways for ur job search.............thanks for reading my post so seriously.........

Pankaj,
Thanks for sharing your views. This is exclusively HeadHunting. But it's good that you stayed back with your current company. All I suggest you is, henceforth, don't give any sort of reference till you get your offer letter in your hand. As an HR, I know we usually take reference for verifications only but it includes ex-colleague or friends etc. If you were clever, you could have given your ex-colleague or friends as a reference. All the best for your career.

Hi Chandan,
Whenever don't say about your current employer's confidential information when your interviewer. It will make bad opinion about you that You will tell about their company(interviewer) confidential information also in future. So, If any interviewer ask about your current employer confidential information, siply reply that "this is confidential information I shouln't reveal it. Sorry" It will impress honest employer.
I was worked in leading Garment company in Chennai. I went to another Garment company for interview. They asked some question about my current employer. I replied the above. I got the job by impressed by my answer. This is my own exprience.
Always be as loyalty. Loyalty and Honesty will save and elevate you and your career.

Thanks for sharing this with all of us... This is actually called head hunting as couple of members already mentioned...but i have heard for the first time that a ceo can personally call a candidate and make him map the entire company according to his needs....????anybody could have felt bad like chandan but i want to ask all the members out here what if people like chandan get harsh on giving references otherwise say if some consultancy calls up and ask for a lead.most of us are in recruitment firms and we all know what kind of METHODS we adopt to get the names from xyz companies.. we even do not mind taking leads from job portals probably junior guys and showing them the career ladder and fetching out names from them.... i do not know how far it is correct but can head hunting will ever be ethical?? and if not i must say that companies, front desk, receptionist, etc etc are getting smarter and they do not even transfer the calls these days because every management specialy hr is training on these issues... so in that case how far will the head hunting business continue..????? and how well the consultants or research associates would be able to meet the requirements of their cleints by getting the cream from every orgnaziation and coping up with thier performance and incentives...????? i think we should ponder over this???

Hi Pankaj,
This is really a good post, which would give many the idea how to present themselves and about their past employer. It sounds funny at one side and sounds really horrible at the other side, but as for me concerned, i will go with the decision of the HR manager, because anybody who takes up the interview, have to be very cautious in presenting about the ex-employer.

Hi chandan.
As of now its a common trend .. I mean its nothing but a manipulative attitude of HR professioanal for the headhunting...
Well in present scenario nothing is right or wrong its up to you how will you perceieve and justify your profession..

I am happy that you have got over this grisly episode. I once again reiterate, ethical companies who are gudied by strong values, will not resort to unscrupulous means. Good luck to you in your next interview.
