Dear All,
I work in a compay of 125 employees..where all backoffice work is done.
We are already having one policy i.e. 3 late marks are allowed and on 4th latemark half day salary gets deducted.
Please let me know what needs to be done in the following:
1)Late coming.
2)Absentism Issue.
3)If an employee does not inform that he/she will not be coming to office i.e. Uninformed absentism.

Hi Aarti,
For Late comming issue, I have one suggestion, which is currently following by us & this was introduced in recent times. the results shows very effective.
We prepared a chart under which we have a month with date format along with the employees names. Those who comes late beyond the specified time they will be marked in that chart.
At the end of every month we charge Rs 10 per day multiplied into total number of days of late arrival to that colleague for the following month.
This amount we use to have a lunch treat to whole team.
This reduced the late arrival & also the treat is not delightful due to less collection of late charges.

Dear Arati,
Mail to each employee a good presentation on Time Management, Punctuality and good manners like informing the immedaite superiors/officers about late coming (if unavidable) and absenteesim (in unforeseen circumstances otherwise prior notice/sanction may be obtained).
This is the only way to tackle the issue
You may have an excel format wherein you can have the details of employees coming late and advise them orally/formally to recify themselves befroe any action to be intiated.

Hello Aarthi,
I hope you are working in an IT field.
And you have the policy of salary cut for the 4th day late coming in a month. The employee suppose to follow the company policies and procedures. You have the right to deduct half day salary for the following late coming days. Pls go ahead with your policy.
And some one said to charge Rs. 10 from the employees who are coming late. Even that amount is for the month end party??????????????????????. Great thought. I hope every month he will have party......

Dear Aarti,
Greetings for the day!!!
Resolution for your queries are as follows:
1) Late Coming :
No body wants to come late as in metro cities people reach office late due to daily traffic jams.
According to me Deduction of half day salary is not an solution to the problem while it has negative impact too i.e. it can demotivate employees or else they can demand for Overtime for their additional stay.
If employees are coming late on regular basis then suitably inform them that they have to complete their daily working hours thru overtime without pay.
2) Absentism Issue :
In this case you can deduct their pay after expiry of thier leaves as applicable
3) If an emploee doesnot inform that he/she will not be coming to office i.e. Uninformed absentism :
You can display the information regarding un informed absentism that un informed absentism shall be considered as leave and they have to submit leave approval form at the end of the month with reasons/details of un informed leave.

Hi!
I think you can start a policy of rewarding the people who are coming on time and not taking may leaves. You can reward them with Mr/Ms Punctual this might help you in reducing the problem of late coming.
And if anybody is taking uninformed leaves then you can consider that day as LWP.
