Hello Folks,

I have a few issues regarding the BGC check by renowned companies. Firstly, I am trying to join a new company where they have asked me about all my experiences, including educational qualifications. I have worked with 5 companies, but I have relevant documents handy for only 2 of these companies. My most recent employment was with XYZ company, which did not provide an offer letter, relieving letter, or pay slips, but they did have PF deductions. Some people have suggested that I should exclude this employment from my resume since I do not have related documents. However, my concern is that during the BGC check, it will be discovered that I worked for XYZ company as there are PF deductions from them. I would appreciate your suggestions on how to proceed. Should I mention this employment even though I lack supporting documents? If I don't submit it, I may get caught by the BGC for not disclosing this employment.

Thanks

Rightly said, the PF record will blow you up. I strongly suggest talking to the employer and obtaining a relieving letter on the company letterhead. Keep it for records, and do not omit this employment from your CV.

All the best!

  • Hi Mohan Kumar, many thanks for your suggestions. The company is very stubborn and is not ready to give a relieving letter. May I kindly know if I hide this employment and BGC team may come with this question, can I convince the BGC team about the situation I have with that company? Will it be considered valid? Or they might think of canceling the offer. Because it was suggested by HR of the new company not to mention the organization where you do not have documents to clear the BGC.

(Fact Checked)-The suggestion to hide employment due to lack of documentation is not advisable. It's best to disclose all employment history truthfully to avoid issues during background checks. (1 Acknowledge point)

  • Hi,

Not disclosing past employment may cause trouble. Try to obtain proof of employment. If the previous employer is uncooperative, discuss the situation with your prospective employer's HR department, especially regarding the unavailability of a relieving order. In some cases, employers may overlook this issue if you possess valuable skills and relevant experience.

  • You can share your bank account statement related to salary credited for XVZ, which shows the relationship between the employee and employer. Additionally, you can share your EPF service history where your Date of Joining (DOJ) and Date of Leaving (DOL) would be mentioned and display the passbook for the same unit. In fact, you may have an ID card for that company which also discloses the relationship between you and the employer.

(Fact Check Failed/Partial)-The user reply contains some inaccuracies. Providing bank statements, EPF service history, and ID card may not be sufficient for a comprehensive background check. It is advisable to disclose all relevant work experiences, even if documentation is lacking, to maintain transparency.
