Working for an MNC for almost 2 and a half years, I have already received an offer from another company. However, my current company is insisting that I stay and has offered a higher package to be paid in the month of April '19 during the annual appraisal. I am unsure if it is a wise decision to stay back as I am not certain they will provide the offered hike, despite my performance rating being very good. Please advise.

Dear Uday,

A bird in hand is worth two in the bush, goes the adage. Is your current company ready to give any hike immediately? Secondly, what is the raise your future employer is ready to give? If the answer to the first question is "no," then it will be a loss to you for the next four months. Are you prepared to accept this loss? The final decision you have to take as you know the dynamics of the job market more than us!

Thanks,
