Yes, an absconder can join the same company unless and until his services were terminated due to unauthorized absenteeism following the due course of law. If no steps were taken by the company, then he will be deemed to be in continuous service.

Many companies would not prefer to hire an employee who absconds without giving a proper resignation or reason and even stops picking up calls. Kindly get in touch with the respective HR and seek clarification. It may also depend on the employee's previous records and performance.
