Hi everyone, I am pursuing an MBA and want to specialize in HR. I have some doubts about HRM:
• History of HRM

Hi, I think compared to other functional areas, HR has more growth. But first, you have to see if you are really interested in HR. Just following recent trends isn't necessary.
Role of HR in an Organization
Regarding the role of HR in an organization, I must say that whatever you have studied about HR and will study, all these aspects are included in HR jobs. It might not be possible to find this completely in any other specialization. The roles include recruitment, staffing, induction, orientation, administration, performance appraisal, training, retention, retirement, and so on.
And about the necessity, you already know by seeing the various functions. All the best for your future. Make a wise decision and choose what you like.
Thanks & Regards,

Dear Prasad, I don't want to involve myself in the discussion of your interest in HR, but I'll tell you about the activities of HR in an organization. Actually, HR activities involve coordinating with all the project teams of the organization because you have to fulfill the manpower requirement of the organization. Now, you have to set different parameters like calling skilled candidates for interviews, facilitating and conducting the interviews, follow-up, salary negotiation, joining formalities, induction, training, establishing performance standards, appraisals, grievances, statutory compliances like PF, ESI, etc., exit interviews, and relieving formalities. All the above activities come under HR activities. To put it simply, "all the activities from recruiting a person until they leave the organization."
