Dear Folks,

I hope you might have seen my earlier post stating that I require some training material for the company's new joiners.

During my one-month period, I have collected some training materials with the help of managers who have been working here for more than a year.

Currently, my training module is in the initial stages of design and is scheduled to be presented to management on Monday. Training for the Operators will only commence after management review. Any necessary changes will be made accordingly. I believe I have done this in a good way as the company has not previously held any training materials or conducted soft training for staff.

My main concern is that most of the Operators do not read, write, or speak proficiently. In these circumstances, how can I deliver the training more effectively and ensure it reaches the employees? This is a question mark.

Let's see how it's going to work out...

Now, I have a question on what to do after the training. Please advise me, as I am feeling uncertain, and this is my first opportunity in training and development for a new company.

Dear Chandra,

If the workers are illiterate, then training is generally imparted to them on machine operations, fire and safety precautions, and nothing else. If you want to conduct soft skills training for them, then all you can teach them is business etiquette. If they learn that, it is more than sufficient.

For illiterate workers, training obviously needs to be conducted in the local language. If possible, try to get videos in the local language as they have a better impact. Another effective tool is role play. However, the training professional should be mature enough to provide the right feedback after the role play.

All the best!

Dear All,

Please help me in drafting an email to the trainer asking her about the training dates, course outline plan, and stationary requirements (or anything related to it) to conduct group activities during the training session.

Thanks and regards,
