Hi,
Please advice to write a good resignation letter - Reason for resignation follows
1. 20% of salary reduced last year, There was delight from the mother company that, they will absorbe all consultants after last year contract, but it did not implemented
2. Last 20% reduction in salary is still alive on this new contract too so I could not continue

Hi!
There can be various reasons for one to leave the organization. It is to be remembered that we may change organization but the people we work with are our brand ambassadors and we may meet someday and somewhere. It seems due to business reasons you are intending to resign which might not be someones fault hence put forward your thoughts in terms of your experience, learning and inevitable reasons due to organization circumstances you are taking this decision.

Hi Baiju,
As Ms Runa Maitra said, we meet the people we worked with, some time some where. Wolrd is sooo small.
Always keep the reasons for resigining with you dont spell it out apart from the CLOSE friends.
And while writing on resignation letter is not at all recommended. As every one look at things as per their perception.
So, be positive, and just write letter as u wanted to resign that's it. No reasons. Its is ur right to work with some one or not.
If they ask why u resgning, tell them verbally with polite remarks.
I hope u understand.
Bye.

Hi Baiju,
I agree with what Runa and KN have written, we need to keep certain facts in mind, let us reflect on when we apply for a job we always want to write out the best resume because that is like a mirror in which the employer is going to see you, similarly when you resign your resignation has to be professional and not curt or rude, even though circumstances have made you quit the job, your resignation should highlight what you have learnt in the organisation and the active support you received from peers and colleagues, again this will reflect as to what type of person you are....remember we never know the future, this employer could be your saviour in times of need again.

Hi Baiju,
Resignation is something which people do it for two reasons. One when you get a better opportunity where growth is perceivable and the other when you or the management cannot see eye in eye! If the resignation is for the first reason, there is no problem you can thank them for having given an opportunity to work in that organization and for having learnt many things, because of which you are ready to take more responsibilities and career enhancements.
If the resignation is because of the second reason, though you are frustrated for any reason, you cannot express them in writing the resignation letter. Very plainly you can write due to personal reasons I am resigning the job. Because as other friends has put it, the world is small and we will meet sometime or the other. Instead of turning this side and that side, not able to face the other person, it is better we resign and leave without any rubbings. I am sure, with my experience, the other person will remember you and will have better words to speak about you in the later days. This will all happen because of the EGO which every one of us have. But while leaving, in polite way, you can explain that you are at no fault and also you may tell the circumstances that lead to this resignation.

Baiju,
I totally agree with what all our members have had to say. One has a variety of reasons for leaving the organization - but that reason is always for oneself to justify the move. Ideally one has to bear in mind that we cannot afford to create enemies at our organization before leaving. (you need to remember that reference checks are done from your previous employer - you don't want them to ruin that). Not only that you never know who you will meet later on in your career - and probably as your boss(Imagine - you bad mouthed him at your previous company and now he is joining as your boss - R you going to quit again??? For all practical reasons it is preferable to draft a resignation letter on neutral grounds. But that does not mean you don't inform anyone if there are things that need to change - speak to your boss (if you can) or anyone else in authority - so that the real reason is known by the organization (but please don't cook up stories about anybody or anything) Be genuine - thats all.

Dear Runa, Kasinag, Stan, Srinaren. Vndixit and HR4all
Nice and intellectual advise from all of them. I accepted completely. But I am looking for a sample resignation letter mentioning the discussed subject.
I am working with them since 1999 - till date. I don't like to leave the company if they revise my salary scale but they won't. If I am speaking very frankly, according to their attitude "If you accept the current terms and conditions - you can continue or leave". Any one who replies me can withstand on this kind of response? Just think about - they are talking rudely to a senior staff. Please note is is not an Indian firm. It is france based contractor company.
I am not a hot tempered man so always I am dealing with cool mind and I don't like to take rapid actions.
so please drop me your comments and also consider my requested letter.

Hi Baiju,
Can understand your feelings! After working for almost 7 years now, you have been neglected and they have not given you whatever they had promised you earlier. Their attitude has changed towards you and they are asking you to accept the present terms or quit!
Since I am working in senior management positions all these days, let me express my views without taking any sides! Please take it in in the right perspective .
You are working since 7 years and you had been promised so many things , that too by a foreign contractor firm. It is the normal attitude of any organisation, that if a person who is working with them for long periods is not productive nor is counter effective in their future growth plans, they will try to find a way to get rid of him. The easiest way is to deny all that has been promised to him like increments, confirmations, benefits etc., so that the person gets frustrated and leave the job. This is the normal practice. You may be a senior person and working honestly and to the best of your abilities but your management may be thinking that you are not fitting in their plan of growth. They may be expecting something more from you which probably you only can understand! I personally feel they might have dropped hints in the past about your non suitability in their scheme of things.
Please do not get frustrated. The long experience is behind you. You can definitely get a better job with better compensation package.
I really don't know by giving my views, whether I have hurted your feelings! If so, kindly forgive me.
If you want a format of resignation letter which expresses your views, your feelings , I may draft a letter for you once I know your feelings/views expressed in this posting.
