Hi
i work in a reputed bpo and the problem i am facing is that my manager has suddenly become very biased towards certain people in my team.They are getting all the additional responsibilities and all the visibility in the floor,even though they are less tenured.this has left me feeling very dissapointed.
I wish to speak to my manager about this but cannot decide whether this is the right thing to do so as this might lead to a negative impression about me,which might shut down all growth prospects for me in this process.
I need some valuable suggestion from the seniors.

on this you need to talk to your senior but make it in a point and in a very professional manner and tell them briefly what kind of more responsiblity you want to take and how it can be beneficial for the organisation and him go ahead and grow in your life cheers.......... :)

Good afternoon.

Most of us do not like to hear accusations about ourselves, so if you take the confrontational route and tell your manager that he is being biased, you are right about hurting your career in your current company. However, talking to your manager in a professional manner is an option that will allow you to at least present your case for greater responsibilities. There may be many reasons for the manager providing opportunities to others and not you and sometimes it may be because of some assumptions that he has made about you.

Build a good case for yourself - your current work, how much you have done in your current job (substantiated by your weekly and monthly reports) and why you feel you are ready (skills & abilities) to take on more responsibilities. Presenting these details along with how you can help the team (and therefore the company) grow if you are given additional responsibilities will also help you push your case in a positive manner.

thanks so much for ur replies,they have given me a clearer understanding of what are the possible steps i can take at this point in time..keep sending in those replies,i am still open to discussion on this.

Suggest the following steps
Ask your senior for some time to be heard.
About? Say that you wanted to discuss something about yourself.
You may have to knock at his doors continuously for 2-3 days. (Usually such meetings get the least preference during allocation of time)
Ask your senior how he has found your work, whether you lack in some areas etc. Starting with such an appraisal process will be helpful. While you know what he expects of you, he will be sympathetic since you are trying to evaluate yourself instead of complaining of bias to him.
Then you should carefully about your interest in additional responsibility ensuring during the process that you would try to overcome all shortcomings he mentioned.

Ask your Manager and His Immediate Boss together the roles and responsibilities to be assigned to individual members and can you as Team Lead re-orient the teams with more clarity of vision on the company's future plan and how each one of us have to perform and the metrics associated with it and start a Mini H.R Training session .
Tell your manager to share his vision with you such that you can motivate your team better and how you will play a critical role in off loading some of his responsibilities and team will be managed proactively towards his goal and responsibility towards his immediate boss
