Hi Friends,
I am looking for training assignment in leading firms into training services/providers.
Currently I hold recruitment profile, MBA (HR) and do not have any prior experience into training hence not sure if I'll get a break into training profile. Please guide me... how should one go about and which firms should I approach in this regard. What sort of preparation should I do before I face interview for training profile.
I really want to change my profile as the current profile no more motivates me. Out of all other functions in HR, training and development is something that really fascinates me. Well, I believe I could be good at soft skills trainings.
Kindly help!!!

Dear Laksh,
With what i see,let me suggest that you go for a train the trainer program or get yourself certified for training.
This would help you in getting the right approach to training,as you have no prior experience in training.
There are many institutes and organisations providing these programs, however careful when you chose the certification program.
All the best.
Hope this information is helpful

Dear Laksh,
As suggested by Raghavv, you need to first get a 'Train the Trainer' certification. You have not mentioned where you reside. Institutes like AIMA and ISTD (New Delhi) offer good certification. XLRI-Jam'pur also runs this program once a year.
Second step would be to prepare sample modules of some 'soft-skill' topics and present them to the companies and up sell your concept.
Hope this helps....!

Hi,
You have mentioned that you've completed ur MBA in HR, am not sure what subjects in HR uv chosen. If training & development was one of ur papers, u can highlight that in ur resume.
The alternative to doing a TTT program is doing a lot of self study. Go online.... search google for various tools used by a good trainer
Most importantly read and understand "Adult Learning Concepts"
Let me know if u need further clarification.
Regards,
Cassy

Dear Laksh,
Since you have no prior experience in training, It would be important for you to get hands on experience in the practical dimensions of behavioural and soft skills training as well as knowledge on the training cycle. This would ensure you gain that competitive edge in your training.
Oscar Murphy International offers a Flexi-learning Diploma Course (Distance Learning) with both Fundamental and Advanced routes to achieving Training success. There are opportunities for placement and projects as well.

Thank a lot Raghav, Would you be able to suggest some reliable institutes for 'Train the Trainer' program. I am put up in Gurgaon and something in Delhi/NCR would be more feasible for me.

Thanks a lot....
I am put up in Gurgaon. I guess the ISTD program is one and a half year duration and it is more like a distance learning program so dats the reason I am not very keen for this. And I am not aware of AIMA program, please throw some light on it...
