Hi Puja,
Usually when you join a company an offer letter or appointment letter is provided to you the day you are asked to join.Yes the company can give you a conformation letter after 6months.So i think you need to tal to them & take a joining letter from them.

Dear Puja,
As per HR Norms candidate should get his/her appointment before joining so that candidate can read the terms and conditions of the appointment letter carefully before signing it as it like a contractual documents having legal bindings.
If a company is not giving you any appointment letter or proof of Joining then they can terminate your services any point of time which may be painful for you.
My suggestion is for you please pursue for appointment letter.

Hi!
This might be a very good consultancy in Delhi but most of them are very bad when the time for payment comes. In my opinion u can join if they are saying they would give u offer letter after 6 months but make sure you get your monthly salary. At least u will be able to learn about the Recruitment, even if they dont give u appointment letter u'll have the knowledge and u wud be able to crack the interview with a good company easily,,, Just be conscious with ur payments while working in consultancies.

Dear Alicia,
I m not agree with your opinion as we always work for getting experience, skills etc but only experince, skills etc. can't help you in getting new job as every good company surely ask for appointment letter copy at the time of joining.
In they will not give appointment letter it means i have no proof of my employment and you can't quote it in ur resume as working experience. and other company will consider you as a fresher.

Dear Pooja,
Offer letter is a formal letter which is given at the time of Joining and ensures your appointment in the org. While Appointment letter is given at the time of joining!!
Most of the consultancies don't provide any of the document. As you are saying its a leading consultancy, i would advise don't loose the opportunity because inbetween you will gain exp and learning. In recruitment mainly your Learning matters not your appointment letter. As a matter of fact Companies understant that many consultancies dont provide offer/appointment letter. In Fact most of the good company do reference check also so this is how you can prove your employment with the said consultancy.

Dear Neer
I do agree that we should get the appointment letter on the day of joininig but in most of the consultancies this is what they do... that's the reason i said to be sure of the payments and u might be treated a fresher on papers but the HR would know that u have working knowledge and it will be easier to krack the interview..
Just an opinion..
