Dear All,
I have around 1.4 years of experience in Banking recruitments in consultancy.I have done regular MBA in HR and finance. But my interest is not in Recruitments and I want a profile in Generalist or operations. I am very eager to move into any company in Payroll process.
But whenever I attend the interview for Generalist role they are not convinced with a consultancy experience as I dont have practical knowledge in Generalist role .Kindly suggest how to deal with this situation.

Dear Bhavya
Companies generally do not look for experience but for knowledge. If you make yourself strong in generalist and payroll (may be a master) so that the moment you go for an interview, and any question put across to you, you are able to answer that immediately. Trust me, your knowledege will work best for you to acquire jobs easily rather than your certificates and degrees and experience.
I am not saying that experience dont matter but yes knowledge works even better.
So I would personally suggest that update your knowledge and then appear for interview.
If you want to know further information on how to get this?
