I think the situation need a little more inquiry as to why employee are feeling bored and dull. What is the exact nature of the work ? In what way is it monotonous ? What can be done to make work interesting ? Do you know what aspects of work is considered boring by the employees ? I think it is important to get the employees involved in a dialogue to understand what they think about their work and how to improve the situation.

Hi, one of the ways is to take them for outbound adventure training to places like Rishikesh, but considering that it is winter time, those places may be freezing. Why don't you organize something close by with a lovely bonfire, and unlimited sizzlers, with karaoke singing competition, from 7:30 PM till 2:00 AM (with due licenses as required) and I guess the team will feel good about it. During the day, you may organize some management games for your team involving the management members to be an active part of it. Mail me at and I will send you some games for free. Those you can understand and implement.
If you look at it, across India, unless you have lots of recreational things at your workplace, the IT programmers / developers, are people who get easily bored and just because there aren't enough openings in the market at this point of time, they hang on till the market opens up. You got to come up with new ways of retaining good talent. Stuff which is employee friendly.
Mail me and I will help you out initially. Don't bother about charges. Of course I can't travel to Lucknow to do it.

You feel they are bored but they may not really be bored. As part of breaking the supposed boredomness, take them to a workshop outside the workplace to find out the real situation. By so doing, they may come out with the reasons for being bored. Meanwhile if they are bored becuase the work is now monotonous, it means they are doing the same thing over the years. The solution is to find them different things to do. For example, if they are mainly engaged in designing websites, you can let them go into designning new softwares for capturing staff data or a software that takes information not through typing but through writing or talking to the computer for the computer to record the information in written texts. The task may be a difficult one but it would certainly put them on a different pedestal.

Everyday morning you can send them morning mail with greeting/nice thought.
Can have small games for half an hour in a week/15 days
once in month birthday celebration for all employees in that month (if budget permit small party or only cake will do)
