My friend resigned over email. The resignation was accepted. But he did not complete any exit formality (handing over, no dues etc) as he was not well. He had worked only for one month and the probation was for 6 months.
After six months after resignation, he received F&F from company - cover letter, calculations and cheque. Does it mean that there is no problem for him from the company any more? F&F is settled but they have not issued relieving letter. Since he is going to study, he doesn't also require it.
The company still seems to try to contact him. I dont know why. Pl let me know.
Thanks in advance

Hi Divya,
Since the company has done all the formalities without any hassle, it means there is no objection from their side.
Trying to contact him even after he has resigned only means that maybe they liked him as an asset or maybe there was some formality left. He can respond and check with them what is it regarding.
Your friend can feel free and go ahead for his higher studies without any worries.

Divya as such i dont see any problem. But it is better if he gets every thing done in a formal manner. Morning shows the day so it is better if he follows the rules even if he has worked for only one month, as he is going to undergo the same circumstances one day again. See majority of the companies would not consider or would avoid any further interactions to communicate in such cases, as of yours, but it is better if he or she gets along with the requisite of the policies for which the concerned department is still trying to reach your friend.
Thanks

hi as the f n f was done and due paid by co, there is reason he should be worried and his tenure is very short, nothing to worry, let him understand what for the call is and appropriately act.

Hi
Thanks a lot for your responses. I still have a nagging doubt. Will they want him to still do the handover and all that (since they have not sent the relieving letter)? Is settling F&F really the final thing from a company?
Thanks

Dear Divya,
Relieving letter will be issued to the employees who have completed all the formalities and has done the handing over properly...
If your friend is not interested to get one.. then why are you bothered about that...??8)

Company is still trying to contact him; is it because they want him to complete exit formalities, ie no dues etc. after settling f&f? That is the doubt.

Just try and contact them as to what exactly they want... If you are not interested in taking the relieving letter.. I think you can talk to them and ask as to what they require? I think there is nothing to worry even if they say you have to complete the exit formalities...You doing it or not doing it will be secondary.. 8)

So it is possible that companies can still pursue someone to complete exit formalities even after settling F&F. I thought F&F was the real final thing. Thanks Bhargavi

Hi Divya,
As of now everything will be just an assumption. Since, it was just for a month that your friend worked there so this wont have any impact on his future, plus his full n final is already done. So, technically he is relieved from his job.
As per the calls are concerned, he is the only one who can find out what is it all about. As Bhargavi said, there is no need to bother this much. So, if he wants to call back and find out then he can or else just let it go and enjoy the bright future.
Hope this helps
