The company can take legal action against you for giving a stop payment against known dues. Be careful before you do stop payments. Full facts need to be given for better answers. Prima facie, stop payment action will not be legally correct.

My employer has not forced me to continue the job as per the rule. I provided a request letter, and he agreed via email, stating that I am free to decide. Meanwhile, I requested to adjust my dues in my salary, but they instructed the company accountant to submit their cheque. Knowing his nature, I canceled the cheque on the same date.
