I discussed it with many HR professionals, seasoned as well as fresh passed-out graduates, and most of them have listed that one of their key responsibilities is to “keep employees motivated”. So, my question is what motivates HR professionals to keep up the good work? What motivates all members of CiteHR? What keep them going?
Kindly share your motivators.

Hi Sanjeev,
For me as HR Professional, recognisation is the best motivating tool.
Recognization does not mean the monetory awards, but its the simple patting my back in front of everyone.
it gives me a lot of happiness and a motivation to do better and better.
Thanks and Regards

As a Professional , two things are very imp for oneself...
1-clarity of role. ( KRA)
2-Next Role i am eligible for ... ( Next Level )
As a Hr Professional above two things turn more crucial since only a motivate person can motivate others .
Personally writing as a ER person , as long as my new initiatives are flowing my name around , i find myself motivated..

Hi Sanjeev,
I personally get motivated by following things:
1) If opportunity is given to do development activities
2) A positive feedback for any initiative from boss
3) To work in open culture

@ Anil, I think you didn't read the question properly. The query posted was, "if it is the role of HR professional to keep all employees motivated then what is that motivates the HR professional". I didn't ask for literature on "Employee Motivation".

Go thru the all links, understand the concept, you will get the answers. "Without a need of learning, no teacher can teach anyone" if there is no need to motivate employee, there is no requirement for this, you will never think of doing this job. Without a reason, no one is here to put their efforts into anything.
As I said above that im here to LEARN and for your information, this is a need, a reason and I have gone thru the questions properly, but guess you didn’t try to get it. You need to clear this concept first Mr. Sanjeev. For example if you are not hungry, you not gonna have food.
if Employee needs it, Employer feels and found it required, it comes on job

@ Anil...this one is interesting, in fact, very intersting. By the way, do you, like many other people, take the trouble to find out the face behind the name? I am sure many of us do not and then get the shock of our life when we see that person in real. It is not wrong but it is certainly funny. :) :) :).
Good show.

Thank you so much Mr. Sanjeev to show your understanding on this. Well hope you enjoyed alot but I think you need more clarification from my side and need to take this subject very seriously. Hope this time you'll not found it funny.

You have used a statement (one of their key responsibilities is to “keep employees motivated” ) and but guess forget to understand what you were saying or asking here. But its ok, now I feel it is really important to clear your doubts here...

Why HR professionals feel its required and needs to "motivate their employees" and what motivates them to do so, is the main thing, in your query if you try to understand this. And I have tried to convey the same.

As we all know that the right people are critical to the success of the organization. There is no room for drift wood or coasters and motivated staff work better and harder and play a really important role in achieving our Organization Goals and Achievements. And just because of this we always search for the best fits for our Organization. And the another fact is that we cant always expect the same best performance by our best fits/experts/motivated employees though we all know they are the best. One day they certainly need/requires to get motivated and for this purpose, HR professionals feel to take the corrective and required action and MOTIVATE THEIR EMPLOYEES. Motivation comes from wanting to do something what is right for people and the organization which is a need.

There, a question if I tried to define is why do we need motivated employees? The answer is survival. Motivated employees are needed in our rapidly changing workplaces, and to be effective, managers need to understand that and do something about it. Again there comes a NEED, which motivates Managers, Professionals to do this.

Purpose, Need and Requirement, motivates HR professionals to keep up the good work. (in your language that you have used above)

I can share more but ….hope and wish this time you can understand the actual thing here..
