Dear All, I'm currently working as an HR Executive under statutory compliance dept. It's been 3 months since I joined in this dept. But till now I haven't learnt anything. Because they don't give any work related to statutory. Sometimes I get more doubts like Will statutory compliance give a better growth in my career? But I'm very much interested and eager to learn thoroughly. So kindly give me any suggestions to kick start my career in this domain in a very effective manner.
Note : How can I apply my theoretical knowledge in statutory compliance into the practical field?

They are not giving you jobs to do? Surprised. So what, go get them. Volunteer yourself, request them to share responsibilities/job. Statutory compliance is an interesting area and very important too. Once accomplished it will give a job satisfaction and you can be one of the power centres of your department. Browse on the net on various stipulations, returns to be filed, documents to be maintained etc, list out them and prepare a check list. This check list should be prepared in such a way to show every compliance with target dates, all in one. With this compare with what have been complied with and what not. You'll now find yourself in a position of investigators and list out where & what are all your counterparts are not complying with, point them out to your colleagues. I'm sure definitely a few they would have missed out, it could be anything like registers, returns, notifications, compliances etc. Sure they'll come to confer with you day-in-day out to check for themselves.

As you are working in Statutory compliance deptt. please think that this is the opportunity to learn the Labour laws which are being followed in factory/organizations. Thus you can specialise applicable labour laws and enrich your career in this segment.

It happened with any Generalist beginner. I would suggest you to watch or follow some of the best labor law channel on youtube; I used to prefer "Labour Law Advisor". Talking about tasks so start with "Time office management" and request your manager to give you old legal cases' file an dairies, here you can have all things practically before yourself.
Also, I got my first legal compliance case after 5 months. Have some patients.
