Dear Seniors,

I am having 6years experience in HR as generalist role. My Educational Qualification is MA+DHRM+MBA in HR.

I had resigned as senior executive from a media company. the reasons are below

1) Company was going from slowdown and

2) last 3 years have not recd any promotion and increment.

3) New management is not professional and they are into cheat fund.

Now I have joined small firm its dealership of car. I have joined as Manager-HR. The company is not having any systems and absence of professionalism.

I found the challenge to work with this organization . Because they want HR person to implement some good policy and system.

When I joined i found that i have to work from root level. I can do no issue.I try my level best. But some question is in my mind.

1) company salary structure is not good they are giving PF only for low salary whose basic is 6500 . We are not comes under the same. I am trying to change but i don't think mgmt will agree for the same . because ppl's focus is on in hand salary.

2) most of the people are mechanic, drivers, washing man, technician. Its very difficult to become profession the way i am thinking.

3) I will continue for the same company for year will try my level best.

4) the such salary structure when i will show in my future is it bad effect in future.

5) can i join corporate world again. It will not take me back again in terms of my career.

I want to work for good company with good people where i can learn OD & TD,PMS

I am very much in tension for my carrier.

Pl give me the best suggestion and guidance for me.

I am waiting for ur reply.

Dear Jayshree

Of course you can work with good professional company, if you are confident of yours HR competence.

Till you get an opportunity, (for which you have to try hard). I advise you to continue with the present job and do your best.

There are lot many initiatives that an HR professional can design, sell it to management, implement it and motivate employees.

Think out of box and start with HR initiatives which does not cost your employer, (or cost very little) but have great returns like employees engagement, commitment, pride building, team cohesion etc.

Use this opportunity to Design and Implement HR systems, processes, initiaitves, which otherwise you may not...as most organizations would have it in place.

Peruse your dream job with persistence and confidence.

But remember one thing...Be Learner Life Long. Keep on sharpening your skills and you will land up where you ought to be.

One more tip...Learn to derive Satisfaction and Happiness from job. They do not flow on own, one need to make efforts. First and prime is being conscious/aware that you want to be Happy with this job. Give that message effectively to your mind, your subconscious mind...by related affirmative messages (auto suggestion/self talk) and you will be conditioned to derive happiness or else it is difficult to find a Perfect place/person/job.

Good Luck

Enjoy !!!!!!

How you are seen & valued by others in your work environment is your true demonstrated worth. When expectations exceed one's demonstrated worth, it becomes difficult to reconcile. Qualifications constitute a very meager part of an individual's true worth. People do expect a senior executive H R to have good communication skills (in written & spoken English), besides the right attitude. You may introspect to know where you stand with respect to these two (please read your own insertion above) & put in some effort.to improve. It appears you have to change yourself & not carry the impression that companies will change their style & work culture to accommodate you.

Learn to get the best out of an opportunity when you get into a job & quit without grudges if you can't adjust. Least that you can do is to avoid getting into a negative thought cycle. This may harm you only & not anyone else. We, the senior professionals, have passed through these stages and know that things don't go the way you desire; willing adjustment is the key to success.

Dear Ms. Jayashree,
No job is PERFECT! You are a HR by profession and it deems awful by hopping jobs just because you don't like the people been unprofessional with a poor system at work. It would be too hasty for you in such a respected position to take any flippant decision.
Professional shouldn't be asked; it should be mend a way that as if you are in front of a mirror so you can see the what you give. Anticipate the queries arising to you when you perform your selve in front of those people who may not even know of the word being "Professional".
Is this something new from the employer to expect HR to implement the best of policies to the organization? Infact, this should have been your best leverage to do the best of the best.
Explain the situation to your management, when they decided to hire you want you to implement strategies you should take the issue to 'em & utilize your word power to elucidate the fact. The explication should be in accord to your statement that you make.
Initially, you cant expect them to behave professional, "Slow & Steady wins the Race". They aren't professionals, you may need to understand.
Don't you think that the way you perform unintrestingly will heave you for one year? Absolutely, wide of the mark uninterested to work will be of no use & the time management gets to know of this -- you will be dispensed.
You can read the answer 1.
Candidly, all HR need a structured job, a well named company etc.,You do have many things working in your favor, including that you know the company and won't have to be retrained. Think logically if you are sturdy, you are unbeatable.
Be honest. How can you decide that this is a good company or these are good group of people? Stop perturbing yourself, pretend your place of work at its margin. Jumping careers just because you want a company with a reputed designation and salary -- will you acheive it in a shorter span. Challenging Career will Challenge you Back. Take Care!

Hi Jayashree,

It happened with me as well. I was in Bangalore and was working with Intel technology which is famous for"Great Place To work". But due to personal reasons I shifted to Indore which is a very small city. Even I was tensed as you are now. But after a great struggle I am well settled now. Seriously I am really enjoying my work. I started working from the root and implemented all techniques which all Big companies used to follow. Some techniques like New employee orientation, most preferred place to work, Buddy system, First day in office, Fun activities-like Friday Fun day, staff lunch, 5 yrs completion award,Birthday celebration etc worked a lot. So slowly when you start the same thing even you will enjoy this position. Here in Indore, actually very less no of people know what exactly HR is.. I used to take only one target that is to keep my employees happy and resolving all issues as soon as possible. In my present company, previous HR has done lot of manipulation even I don't have employee record,PF challans and Returns. I am facing lot of problems, and all employees used to compare me with him, But i made them understood that how I am doing and How it will help you. I started making them aware about there rights and started educate them, and at present for all issues they used to talk to me only. And I am the one who used to guide them. I am happy with all this. I stated implemented PAS, already set all KRA's and KPI's . And will slowly reach at that level. In case you need any kind of help you can ask me as well. I am not asking you to be there and do that job, but wants to tells you that it will really help you.So don't wry just close your eyes and think what exactly you want and start working for that. Job is not a very big issue, No doubt you will get it may be today or tomorrow, But give focus on your profile and interest.

Thanks

Dear Jayashree,
Other learned members have given you their valuable advices. Therefore, I would not like to comment on that still further. Nevertheless, I recommend you improving your quality of English. HR professional needs to have good command over English. The way you have written your post, it goes on to show that you need to improve lot.
Command over English is not the only thing on which you will grow but then without it you are doomed to stagnate, that is for sure!

Dear Ms. Jayashree.

1) There are employees who wants to fly high and high and high, even wants to cruise at higher speed levels, doesn't make any difference if there is any turbulance, they don't worry about failures, but still wants to fly high and high. These are the employees who had experienced ups and downs in their life but are not stable. One fine day they give up everything and starts living the other category of life as they understood the ground reality.

2) The other category is, they just want to keep flying as long as they can. They are very stable, matured, healthy and loves to live a contended/peaceful life.

Now, you decided in which category your fit in.

What i had learn't in my life is that "GIVING ADVICE/SUGGESTION IS AN EASY JOB BY IMPLEMENTING ADVICE/SUGGESTIONS IN OUR PRACTICAL IS A VERY TOUGH JOB". Future is unpredictable and whatever we plan may not happen.

1) We employees cannot bring changes in any organisation unless Management had empoowered and supported our vision and mission statement. I was empowered, but still I failed desperately as management didn't supported my modus operandi/business strategies which were in favour of the organisation and employees.

2) Please do not bother about your Management and their activities as you are neither held responsible nor they will held you responsible for their activities/failures. I was never held responsible for their FAILURES even though i was worried about them as i was part of the management.

3) You can't expect to have everything served in your plate. Learn to compromise with your life and go with Time. I brought changes in my professional strategies.

4) Understand, why and for whom we are working? what are our commitments/requirements?..I am working for my family as everyone does. We all have various commitments.

5) Can i afford to lose my health just to acheive my CAREER GOALS?

6) We must avoid being AGGRESSIVE.

Slow down and please do not try to bring in reforms. Your job is to present your proposal to the management and make them understand its benefits. Rest, its their will and wish.

With profound regards

Dear JAYASHREE,
Just Believe in yourself!!! The mentioned below quote is just for you....
“Trusting your intuition means tuning in as deeply as you can to the energy you feel,
following that energy moment to moment, trusting that it will lead you where you
want to go and bring you everything you desire.”
