Hi, I am Kavin. Suppose an employee wants to be relieved from the company, and the notice period is 2 months. At this time, what should HR do? For example, when should the salary be given after the notice period, on a monthly basis as usual? When should we provide the relieving letter and experience letter? Can anyone help?

Salary has to be disbursed as usual during the notice period on a monthly basis. For the last month, you can include the salary in the full and final settlement where leave salary, gratuity, and other terminal benefits will be paid.

When you receive notice of an employee's exit, work out his dues - anything due from him on any account and what he is due from the company such as PF, Gratuity, or ex-gratia, etc. This notice period is generally used to find a replacement for him, check whether he holds any company property like a car, laptop, etc., and start the process of withdrawing company items. If he was holding company cash, including records of amounts spent, vouchers, balance money, etc., his pay will be given normally at the month end.

Dear Kavin,
You can give the salary on the following basis: if NP is 2 months, the initial 1 month you can pay on the normal salary day, and the 2nd-month salary at the time of F & F, that too after getting the NOC from the respective department head.

It is simple. If you're going to relieve him instantly, give two months' salary at once. Otherwise, keep him on the regular payroll for the current month. Provide the second month's salary after calculating his credit/debit balance once all details are sorted out. Additionally, there is no harm in issuing an experience certificate since he has served your organization.
