Dear Friends,
Organisation gives preference to HR candidates from the same industry. Eg. Manufacturing company look for HR candidate with background of manufacturing. Some organisation have distinctively differentiated HR functions like Recruitment, compensation management, training etc. Again they look for HR experts in these areas. Some organisations clearly mention MBA for top B schools. So, we need to analyse our competencies and identify where we are strong. Based on the analysis, if we select the companies for employment, we stand better to get an opportunity. No need to get disappointment but we should have a strategy which will take us through.

Dear Mr. Anand,
From your comment i can see that you never faced such a problem.. if in case u were in their place that denotes you are not capable ?? If the answer is YES Then i am wrong but if NO then your point of view is wrong.. as people earned & placed in good reputed org. before doing MBA but after doing MBA specalized in HR they are complaining abt the oppurtunity in the market.
Anand in which you don't require competent people...
So understand thier pain don't disagree & jump on conclusion.

Dear All,
I'm also facing the same problem of not getting the desired job. I've close to 2yrs of work experience as HR exec in HDFC Bank on contract basis. Their my profile was mainly into recruitments. Hence, now I'm getting job offers only from HR consultancies for recruitment. but I want to go for HR Generalist profile to learn more aspects of HR. But unfortunately, not getting a single opportunity because of my past experience in recruitment.
I've done one year diploma in HR from YMCA, New delhi.
Do I need to pursue any short-term course like Ajax/HR House to get the HR Generalist role?? are these courses really beneficial??
Pls suggest..
Thanx

Hi This is Piyal Biswas aspiring to become an HR executive within A few months but the tagline of being a fresher is the most biggest tragedy of any aspiring Hr.....

[/QUOTE] yaa i somehow agree to your point about the difficulty a person faces when we just move out for a job in HR I i can tell u my friend it hardly makes any difference whether you are experienced or fresher because you get the same response Iam Piyal ,pursuing PGDM -HR corse from one of the renound colleges of Pune Sinhgad Institute of business mgt & research .i had the same aspirations that yes the market is running through the phase of recession but it will regain the opening very soon as all the days are not same but believe me seeing myself in the same industry within a few months from now iu feel ashamed that inspite of so many articles on motivations which cover the maximum space in TOI still people cant understand who and what motivates others is the only success achievers who feel that new blood should flow in the industry for higher innovative growth are the ones during the interviews feel we can minimise the cost of the company by hiring an experienced person but see u r experienced but still unsatiusfied with ur domain right so its all abt change one needs the perfect candidate for his company but how perfect are the companies with their hiring strategies a big question????
