Dear Sravani,
My name is Sudha Sundriyal. I am working at a Pvt. Ltd. Company in Delhi. We receive projects from state governments on Organic Farming, and I work as a Project Coordinator. You may have recently heard about Organic Pulses and Vegetables. Yes, we are encouraging farmers to cultivate them, and we manage all their documentation. I have 4 years of experience solely in Organic Farming and a total of 6 years of job experience.
Since this is a relatively new field, job opportunities are limited for me, and I am concerned about my career growth. To be honest, I have tried but have not been successful in finding a job in HR. Now, with my experience, it is even more challenging to start anew, especially as I do not have any friends or relatives in the HR field to guide me. I was not able to get the right advice. I pursued BSc and became interested in Organic Farming, but now my growth seems stagnant.
Could you please suggest which HR field would be suitable for me? There are various roles in HR like generalist, recruiter, etc.
Thank you,
Sudha

Hello Friends,
I agree with Sravani. For a non-HR background person, recruitment is an easy option to start a career in HR. However, you don't get much salary here in the beginning. Recruitment is such an option that only those should go for it who can withstand the day-to-day pressure. A generalist profile is very rare, and an MBA in HR is mostly preferred; however, you can also find this in small firms.

Dear Mr. Anand,
I completed my PGDBA in HR in 2008, but despite my efforts at that time, I was unable to secure a job in the field of HR. The concept of Organic farming was just beginning, and many people suggested that something new would have a bright future. Encouraged by this, I continued with Organic Farming, and my BSc degree proved to be beneficial. I took courses to stay updated on Organic Farming. However, when I began my job search, I found very few job openings in Delhi. Therefore, I am feeling a bit apprehensive about my future.

Hi Sudha,
Choosing the right job is really a tough decision. One should always follow one's interest and passion. Never go for what others say to you. If you feel that HR is the best job for you and you will excel in HR only, then go for it. No job is tough or easy. It all depends on a person's talent, skills, and interest.
You will get many opportunities in HR in Delhi and NCR. Recruitment is evergreen with vacancies. Register on job portals. Spend 1-2 hours searching for jobs on the net and follow up with the companies. You will definitely succeed.

Dear Sravani,
Truly speaking, I love to work in the field of Organic Farming as it is helping India by providing pure food to individuals. However, it will take time with no growth in this field.
Regarding HR, it is also very interesting to handle Human resources as they are the key to success for an organization.
So, thanks for the reply. I am trying to update my portals but not getting the right job. If I get one, I will surely let you know.

Dear Sudha,
Don't you worry, dear. It is the worst time in life when we search for jobs. I was a fresher with an MBA in HR degree and tried for 6 months, but didn't get a job in this field. So, I shifted to the IT sector. However, I had a zeal for working in HR. I tried in industry setups and finally got a job in the HR department as an Assistant HR Manager. You should also try in the industrial areas located near your city. You will definitely get a job in HR, and there is no doubt you will enjoy it.
Just drop your resumes physically in 5 to 6 local-based industries. Enter them, learn, gain experience, and then try for bigger companies. Think positive, and you will receive positive responses.
